Based on a typical supermarket layout with fuel station, the site was chosen for the mix of canopy types of single, double and walkway to store. We provide no data for the walkway variant as each of this type of canopy is designed specifically for the site. The stores grid supplied demand is assumed on a m2/p/kWh of GIA
Civils can be dramatically reduced using Ballasted structures working closely with Sweco UK Limited Consulting Engineers, our structural engineers, we achieved just that. Next on our list was labour, previously a 1 megawatt of PV canopies would take a 10 man team 500 hours to complete the install, by shifting to Volt assembly in the factory 1 megawatt with a 4 man team takes only 150 hours to install and have the car park back in operation.
The effect of disruption is sometimes underestimated, parking is a very dynamic and integrated service which if disrupted for long periods can have negative financial consequences. Car parks are live operational sites and, in many cases, working 365 day a year, we therefore placed a great deal of consideration for a design that aimed at fast installation, removing as much onsite work to offsite. A Volt can be described as a PV cassette, each cassette is fitted with 8 Bifacial PV modules, our current offering is 580wp with a minimum 15% back boost from the rear PV cells giving 667wp. Each Volt connects to each other to make the string connections with LED lighting as standard below that is connected to the volts canopy services Li-battery.
